FA Cup Final: What Mourinho said after Man Utd’s loss to Chelsea

Jose Mourinho on Saturday said Manchester United were the better team after their loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup Final.

In a post match interview, Mourinho said: “The boys gave everything to have a trophy. It is disappointing.

“We were the second best team in the premier league but tonight, I think the best team lost. That’s football, congratulations to them.

“I say congratulations to my boys by the effort, by the quality, by the desire, by the ambition.

“But this is the way I prefer to lose; I prefer to lose with positive feeling. I am not sad, I feel satisfied with my boys, with everything we gave.”

Jose Mourinho has lost his first ever domestic cup final in England, winning each of his previous five.

Chelsea have now won their 8th FA Cup and their first since 2012, level with Tottenham – only Man Utd (12) and Arsenal (13) have won more.

This is the third time Chelsea and Man Utd have met in the FA Cup final, making it the joint-most played final in the history of the competition.
