Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero, attacked a fan after Monday night’s FA Cup clash with Wigan Athletic.
Aguero punched a fan in a heated altercation on the pitch after City’s 1-0 defeat to Wigan.
At the final whistle, Wigan fans ran onto the pitch to celebrate with their players. But the Argentine international lashed out at one of the supporters after he was approached as he headed towards the tunnel.
The 29-year-old struck the fan with his right arm but was then restrained by Wigan defender, Cheyenne Dunkley.
Reacting to Aguero’s altercation, Wigan manager, Paul Cook told reporters: “It’s not right, is it? It’s not correct, Player safety is paramount.”
However, Pep Guardiola City’s hopes of winning the quadruple this season ended after Will Grigg’s late goal sealed victory for the League One club at the DW Stadium.
