The Football Association (FA), has charged Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Dele Alli, with violent conduct after he appeared to punch West Brom’s Claudio Yacob in Monday’s 1-1 draw.
Referee Mike Jones missed the incident which occurred in the 26th minute, but Alli could now face a three-game suspension if found guilty.
Off-the-ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials, are referred to a panel of three former elite referees.
Alli has until 6pm on Wednesday to reply to the charge and the 20-year-old is in danger of missing the remaining games this season.
