Ikechukwu Ezenwa has insisted that he is only interested in extending his stay at Sunshine Stars, despite efforts by a few clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), to sign him.
The goalkeeper was one of the key members for the Owena Waves last season and was also in action for Nigeria at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
Ezenwa revealed he has already turned down some offers even from teams that will play continental football, to stay with the Akure club.
“I have received a lot of offers from clubs who want me to join them ahead of the new season, but I told them i’m not ready to leave Sunshine Stars for now,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Last season was tough for us (the players) as most clubs couldn’t pay salaries on time, but I don’t see that as a reason for jumping up and down. “It’s the same story every where, so I prefer to stay where I am now.”
