Explosion from a domestic gas cylinder, Sunday, gutted a residential building opposite the Olomoro Community market in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was learnt that resultant fire from the explosion was so severe due to the absence of men of the fire service.
Effort by sympathisers could not also save the building as it was completely razed down.
An eyewitness who craved anonymity stated that commercial shops attached to the building were also affected.
Occupants of the building were left with nothing apart from clothes they had on before the ugly incident.
An indigene of the Community, Orerue Emonena confirmed the blast to DAILY POST.
“Fire gutted the building opposite Olomoro main market”, he said,
“Local fire quenchers have tried their best but all their efforts prove abortive. Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed.”
Another member of the community, Anthony Ukpagha said: “The complete house was raised down. It is pathetic. Both the owners of the house and shops are seriously in pains.
“They need help because as at the time I left the scene, they don’t have any other clothes to wear. They also don’t have any place to sleep.”
