EXCLUSIVE: Police gun down suspected armed robber, recover ammunition in Delta Community

The Police in Jesse, Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta state on Thursday afternoon shot dead an armed robbery suspect and recovered three AK 47 rifle, 192 live cartridges, two dynamites and an Audi car from the suspect, DAILY POST can exclusively report.

The Divisional Police Officer, CSP, Lawrence Olorunso declined comments on the matter when confirmation was sought from him.

However, a Police source, who craved anonymity, said, “At about 3.30pm this afternoon, information got to the DPO SP Lawrence Olorunso of the presence of strange guys in town with an Audi car.”

The source said the Divisional Police Officer quickly mobilized his men to comb the town.

The source further claimed that, “The Police noticed the car parked at Mission road with three of the Suspects sitting in a shop besides it.

“On sighting the police, they flew and this made the police to be more suspicious. When they searched the car, they discovered the AK 47 and other ammunitions that was when they chased them into the bush and one of them was gunned down in that process.”

When contacted, the Delta state Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka said confirmed the report, stating that, “the incident actually happened.”

He disclosed that the police recovered three AK47 rifles and two dynamites from the suspect.

DSP Aniamaka explained that the suspect was shot dead during a hot chase by the police, adding that the Police will in due course make other information available to newsmen.
