Ex militants endorse Jonathan, warn defected PDP Governors to return

Former Niger Delta militant leaders have tackled some governors who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.

The former freedom fighters called on electorates never to be discouraged by the negative campaigns against President Goodluck Jonathan.

This was disclosed by a group under the aegis of Leadership, Peace and Cultural Development Initiatives in a statement on Thursday.

It said that President Jonathan had done well and should be given another four years to continue the good job he has started.

The group made this call after a meeting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, presided over by its National Coordinator, Pastor Reuben Wilson.

He said, “The defected governors only played to the gallery without showing the difference between their achievements in office under the PDP and under the APC”.

It would be recalled that former leader of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, Asari Dokubo had advised South-South politicians who defected from the PDP to return for their own good.

The former freedom fighter threatened that if they didn’t return, he would force them to do so.
