Arjen Robben has revealed that his team-mates had predicted that he would score the winning goal against Borussia Dortmund.

The Dutch winger won the Champions League for Bayern Munich, with a poked finish in the 89th minute, banishing memories of his penalty miss against Chelsea in last year’s final.

“I heard so many people saying in the last weeks that they would grant me this [game-winning goal]. They told me: ‘You’ll score the goal,” Robben told ZDF.

The Holland international also admitted that the victory has not quite sunk in.

“It’s not quite sunk in yet, there’s still a lot of emotion. I just reacted to Franck [Ribery’s pass] and went through [to score].

“It was an even game, we had chances and they had chances. This was such a close match, a match with two teams at the same level.”
