Everton are set to switch their attention to Danny Welbeck, as their move for his Arsenal team-mate Olivier Giroud has stalled.
Toffees boss, Ronald Koeman, needs a focal point to his attack since they have sold Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United for £75m.
Although Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney have arrived this summer, the club is still looking for a striker that can be a genuine targetman and has the pace to stretch teams.
Welbeck would command a price tag of £30m in today’s market and has links to the Merseysiders through former Old Trafford team-mate Rooney.
From the Gunners’ viewpoint, it would offer them a return of almost double the £16m they paid Manchester United for the striker three years ago.
