Manchester United have agreed a £75m fee with Everton for Romelu Lukaku.
The BBC reports that United have ended their interest in Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata and are now set to bring in the Belgium international.
United are ready to use Wayne Rooney, as a makeweight in a sensational move for Lukaku.
United boss, Jose Mourinho wants Lukaku and is ready to allow his captain return to Everton, in a bid to beat Chelsea to the Belgium striker.
Everton chairman, Bill Kenwright, held talks with Rooney’s agent, Paul Stretford yesterday in London, over a move back to Goodison Park.
Kenwright is keen to see Rooney back in an Everton shirt, 13 years after he was sold to United in a controversial £27m transfer.
United are likely to have to pay around £180,000 of Rooney’s weekly wage next season, for the Everton deal to go ahead. Manager Jose Mourinho returns for pre-season tomorrow and is said to be surprised Rooney’s future remains unresolved.
