Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has spoken on his side’s 2-1 victory over Malmo in the Europa League round of 32 first leg tie on Thursday night.
Goals from Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud handed Chelsea all three points against Malmo at Swedbank Stadion.
However, a goal from Anders Christiansen was not enough to give the hosts a point against Sarri’s side.
Sarri said Chelsea cannot afford Malmo’s mistake against the likes of Premier League top clubs: Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham.
“If we concede a goal like this to a team like Manchester City or United or Tottenham, then you risk conceding three goals in 10 minutes,” Sarri was quoted by Reuters as telling reporters after-match.
“I am happy with the confidence, it wasn’t easy to play with this confidence after the last match. We have to do better but I think that the performance was a good performance.”
Sarri added: “We need to have continuity and consistency, in the mental condition to be able to approach every match with the same level of application, determination and attention.
“If you are in bad mental condition in England, in ten days you can lose three or four very important matches. We have to approach every match in the same way.”
Chelsea will tackle Manchester United in the FA Cup at Wembley on Monday night in their next fixture.
