Former Arsenal defender, Martin Keown, was full of praise for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, after the striker netted a hat-trick in their 4-2 win over Valencia on Thursday night.
The Gunners went into the second leg of their Europa League semi-final, with a 3-1 advantage from the Emirates game.
Aubameyang scored four times over the 180 minutes, as Unai Emery’s men progressed into the final on May 29, where they take on rivals, Chelsea.
“I have said it before but he is the closest thing to (Thierry) Henry and he is proving that tonight.
“We are getting out of our chairs every time he has the ball. Let’s credit (Unai) Emery as well for playing both of those strikers and (Mesut) Ozil as well.
“He was cup-tied last year and boy did Arsenal miss him. He was (Eden) Hazard-like running with the ball at times tonight.
“He became a top player for me tonight. I’ve said he is the closest thing to Henry and he showed it,” Keown said on BT Sport.
