Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has reacted to the club’s qualification for the Europa League final.
Arsenal defeated Valencia 4-2 in the second leg of the semi-final clash on Thursday to qualify 7-3 on aggregate having beaten the La Liga side 3-1 in London last week.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s hat-trick and Alexandre Lacacette’s strike ensured that the North London side comfortably booked their place against Chelsea in Baku.
Aubameyang said Unai Emery’s men learnt from last season’s mistakes of Atletico Madrid, adding that the victory over Valencia meant a lot for the North London club.
Arsenal came close last season, but were knocked out in the semi-final by eventual winners, Atletico Madrid.
“We are through to the final and we are all happy,” Aubameyang told Arsenal’s website.
“It meant a lot. I think we’ve learnt from last season and this year we didn’t make the same mistakes.”
Aubameyang and his teammates will face Chelsea at the Baku Olympic Stadium in Azerbaijan on May 29.
It would be Arsenal’s first European final since they were beaten by Barcelona in the Champions League showpiece in 2006.
