Europa League: Wenger reveals Arsenal’s plan to silence Diego Costa

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has revealed his plan to keep Atletico Madrid striker, Diego Costa, quiet in their Europa League semi-final second leg on Thursday.

Costa missed the 1-1 draw at the Emirates last week, as he was just recovering from hamstring trouble.

But the Spain international is expected to start against the Gunners at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Costa is without a goal in his last seven appearances and Wenger is determined not to allow him to end that drought against his side.

“In history, he has shown he can make differences.

“He was very successful in England. Our job is to keep him quiet and the way to do that is to play more in their half.

“My target is to get to 251 games [by reaching the final]. I believe we come to a place with a good history in Europe but we know exactly what we need to do. Our way to behave is clear and that is an advantage,” Wenger told reporters on Wednesday.
