Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has confirmed that Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Marcos Alonso will both miss their side’s UEFA Europa League round of 32 first leg tie with Malmo on Thursday night.
Sarri said he rested Alonso while Loftus-Cheek is currently injured with a back injury.
Sarri’s men head to the game following a 6-0 defeat to Manchester City last weekend in the Premier League encounter.
“Loftus is out with the same problem, his back,” Sarri was quoted by Daily Star as saying.
“Maybe it’s not really serious this problem, but at the moment he’s out.
“I hope for the next week and match in the FA Cup, but it was impossible for tomorrow.
“I wanted Marcos to rest for the match. No physical problem.”
The kick-off time for the match is 9pm.
