Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Rostov on Thursday, in their Europa League round-of-16 first leg in Russia.
Jose Mourinho’s men opened scoring in the 35th minute of the encounter, after Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan combined well for the Armenia midfielder to score.
The home team drew level at the beginning of the second half through Aleksandr Bukharov, who got between Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, to control a long pass and finish past Sergio Romero.
Rostov grew in confidence after the goal, but United held on to earn the draw.
The return leg will be played next Thursday at Old Trafford.
