Former Manchester United midfielder, Owen Hargreaves, has singled out forward, Mason Greenwood for praise following the Red Devils’ 1-0 win over Astana in the Europa League on Thursday night.
He also compared Greenwood with former Man United striker, Robin van Persie after the 17-year-old impressive display against Astana.
Greenwood scored the only goal of the match in the 73rd minute to ensure Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side got all three points against the visitors at Old Trafford.
“I would say Greenwood has a great feel for the game,” Hargreaves told BT Sport.
“Every time he touched the ball there was a purpose to it, he didn’t try and force things, he took what was there.
“For a young kid at 17 to have that composure in the box, he had a picture of what he wanted – come in on the left foot, chop, like Van Persie, a good finish. That’s a top player, he’s going to be a top player.”
He added: “I think he could play in the Premier League, he’s going to be a big piece of the puzzle.”
