Arsenal midfielder, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, has advised the club’s manager, Arsene Wenger to play a full strength side in the second-leg of their Europa League tie with Ostersunds FK.
The match will be coming just three days before the League Cup final.
Arsenal look to have booked their place in the next round of the Europa League after a convincing 3-0 win over the Swedish minnows in the first-leg.
Goals from Nacho Monreal and Mesut Ozil sandwiched an own goal, while David Ospina saved a penalty in injury time
The former Manchester United player was a standout performer with two assists and it seems he’s keen to play when the sides meet next week.
He said after the game, “We have to focus on every game regardless of this result to ensure more success,’ said the Armenian.
“Even with the League Cup final, I think we have to play with the same team and win at home.”
Arsenal will play the second-leg at the Emirates next Thursday before meeting Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday.
Wenger, however, was coy on whether he would take the opportunity to rest players with the League Cup final in mind.
“We’ll see if I rest players.
“Maybe but we want to win the game, it is important that we put out a team that can do that,” he told BT Sport
“Mkhitaryan is a fan of the Europa League having been Manchester United’s standout player as they lifted the trophy last season.
“He’s confident he could be lifting it again in the near future. ‘Why not? We have to keep fighting, in the end see where we’re at.”
