Former Arsenal defender, Martin Keown, has said that Sead Kolasinac’s lack of defensive qualities, is providing a problem for Unai Emery at Arsenal.
The Gunners sealed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Qarabag in the Europa League on Thursday evening and sit top of Group E.
Kolasinac was given his first start of the season, after he suffered a knee injury before the campaign began.
But Keown was not impressed with the 25-year-old’s defensive performance and even believes the left-back was a ‘weakness’ against Qarabag.
“Kolasinac was a problem, looking at his defensive responsibilities.
“He got done on one ball, his body shape was all wrong, he wasn’t in line with the rest of his team.
“He looked very vulnerable, he’s pointing at the player he should be running with.
“Kolasinac is a player who wants to go forward but he doesn’t want to defend.
“He really was a weakness for Arsenal.
“But he’s not been in the group, he’s not been in the back four, and he’s not picked up the message of what the manager is looking for,” Keown said on BT Sport.
