Europa League: Everton crash out after defeat to Lyon; AC Milan fail to top group

English Premier League side, Everton, on Thursday crashed out of the Europa League group stage with two matches still to play after a 3-0 defeat in Lyon.

AC Milan also missed a chance to clinch a spot in the last 32.

Everton, without a permanent manager since the sack of Ronald Koeman last week, succumbed to three second-half goals in France.

Goals from Bertrand Traore on 68 minutes, Houssem Aouar on 76 minutes and Depay on 88 minutes was all the French club needed to send Everton out of the competition.

The Seven-time European champion, AC Milan, in the midst of a poor run of form in Serie A, failed to relieve much pressure on under-fire manager Vincenzo Montella following a 0-0 draw at AEK Athens.

Milan hit the post on 57 minutes through Riccardo Montolivo, while Turkey midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu had a powerful drive turned away as the Italian club remained two points clear of their Greek hosts in Group D.
