Olivier Giroud scored a breathtaking goal in the late stages, as Arsenal claimed a 1-0 win over Red Star Belgrade, in their Europa League Group H tie on Thursday night.

The Gunners were below par all through the game and struggled to create chances or convert them.

Theo Walcott was the biggest culprit of the night, along with Giroud, as both forwards failed to finish off moves instigated by the brilliant Jack Wilshere.

However, Arsene Wenger’s were handed the tie on a platter, after Belgrade’s Milan Rodic was sent off with 10 minutes left.

Giroud finished off a fine move, which began with a Wilshere pirouette.

They now top their group with nine points from their first three fixtures.
