Europa League: Ajax hammer Lyon 4-1

Bertrand Traore scored tiwce, as Ajax took control of their Europa League semi-final tie against Lyon, with a commanding first-leg performance.

The hosts went in front in the 25th minute through the Chelsea loaneee. The Burkina Faso got a slight touch on Hakin Ziyech’s free-kick, to send the ball beyond Anthony Lopes.

It was 2-0 within 10 minutes, as Traore won the ball following a defensive error and laid it on for Kasper Dolberg to double their advantage.

After the break, Amin Younes extended Ajax’s lead. Mathieu Valbuena pulled one back for the Ligue 1 side, before Traore struck again.

The second leg will be played in France next week and the winner will face Manchester United or Celta Vigo in the final.
