Former Nigeria international, Etim Esin, has warned the Flying Eagles not to be carried away, despite their 1-0 win over Burundi, in the first leg second round qualifier for the 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Chukwudi Agor scored the only goal of the encounter in the 68th minute.
Esin showered praise on coach Emmanuel Amuneke and his boys, but warned them that it was not over.
“It was a good result for the Flying Eagles because winning away from home especially in Africa, is never easy,” Esin toldCompletesportsnigeria.com.
“And for Emmanuel Amuneke, I think he has done well since moving up from the Golden Eaglets. He has the experience and I believe he will go far with the team.”
Esin also stated that Nigeria’s qualification for the tournament in Zambia, was far from assured.
He added: “The 1-0 away win is not a guarantee that the Flying Eagles have qualified for the next round.
“They should not allow the first leg result get into their heads because as we all know football is unpredictable.”
