A delegation of the Delta State government led by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has reassured the preparedness of the Delta State government to assist in the rehabilitation of Ese Oruru .
The delegation on Wednesday paid a visit to Ese and her parents, in the presence of the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Peter Ogunyanwo.
The teenager, a native of Delta State but resident in Bayelsa state, was allegedly abducted on August 12 2015 and taken from Yenagoa to Kano where she was converted to Islam and married by her abductor, Yunusa Dahiru, aka Yellow.
However, when the minor was rescued and returned to Yenagoa she was five months pregnant.
But the Delta State government has promised to assist in her rehabilitation process and ensure her quick return to school after the delivery of her child.
The state Commissioner for Information reiterated the preparedness of the government to join the Bayelsa State government to ensure the minor returns to school and continue her life.
Ukah, said they were happy that the young girl was doing well since returning to Bayelsa State from Kano.
The commissioner said the law would take its full course against the man who allegedly abducted her to Kano state.
He, however, expressed the gratitude of the state government to all who played a role in the return of Ese to Yenagoa.
