Chelsea forward, Willian has admitted that he would have left the club had Antonio Conte remained at the club as manager.
The Brazilian said there was “no chance’ he would still be at Stamford Bridge if the Italian gaffer was not sacked.
Conte won the Premier League in his debut season in England but was sacked just over a year later after a frustrating second campaign at Stamford Bridge.
“Would I be here if Conte stayed? No chance. No,” Brazilian forward Willian told Goal.
“I’m here. I’m here because I want to play for Chelsea. I will only leave if Chelsea want me to go.”
In Maurizio Sarri’s first Premier League game in charge of Chelsea, the Blues clinched a comfortable 3-0 victory over Huddersfield Town.
The World Cup star also spoke about his new teammate, Jorginho, who played his first game in the Premier League last Saturday.
“Jorginho has played very well, he has a lot of quality and helps our play build up from the back. I think we played very well,” Willian added.
“Now we have to continue like that because next week we have a great game to play against Arsenal and we want to win again.”
