Chelsea have revealed why the club decided to sign Real Madrid midfielder, Mateo Kovacic.
The Croat joined Chelsea on Wednesday night on a season long loan from Real Madrid.
Kovacic had earlier told the club’s official website that he was “excited” to join Chelsea and predicted a “tough” start to life in England.
The Club Director of Sports, Marina Granovskaia said Kovacic was the “perfect fit” for manager, Maurizio Sarri, as Chelsea prepare for their Premier League opener with Huddersfield.
Granovskaia told Chelsea’s official website, “We are very happy to welcome Mateo to the Chelsea family.
“He is a perfect fit for us this season, his style is well suited to how Maurizio wants to play and we are sure he will prove to be a valuable asset for the club.”
