Lyon President, Jean-Michel Aulas, has revealed why attacking midfielder, Nabil Fekir did not join Chelsea this season despite agreeing personal terms with the Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Recall that Fekir agreed personal terms with the Blues.
According to Aulas, the West London club turned down an opportunity to buy the 25-year-old.
“In the beginning, when we thought about our summer transfer window and how to organise the squad, we thought he [Nabil Fekir] was practically gone,” EveningStandard quoted Aulas as saying at a press conference.
“We spoke with Chelsea representatives and they had no interest in him. From then on, we realised we could change our plans as Nabil would stay.”
