Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has rejected the club’s move to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
The Portuguese urged Old Trafford transfer chiefs not to make a move for the former Real Madrid star before he joined Juventus.
Ronaldo quit Real Madrid before the start of this season, opting to join the Italian giants.
The Red Devils were linked with a move for their former talisman, with United executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward keen on reuniting with the 33-year-old.
However, according to the Daily Mirror, Mourinho has told United transfer chiefs that instead of signing Ronaldo, they should get him defenders.
Mourinho is still unhappy after Woodward refused to sign his choiced defenders during the summer.
According to the report, he turned down Ronaldo hoping to get either Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham or Leicester City’s Danny Mcquire.
