Manchester United’s chiefs have rejected a transfer request from manager, Jose Mourinho, following their 1-0 FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea on Saturday at Wembley.
Eden Hazard’s first-half penalty was enough, as the Blues defeated United to win their only silverware of this season.
Mourinho is keen to splash the cash this summer to make amends.
The Portuguese gaffer is reportedly a huge admirer of Real Betis midfielder, Fabian Ruiz.
Ruiz plays in the same position as ex-Red Devils midfielder, Michael Carrick, and Mourinho wants the 22-year-old at Old Trafford.
Don Balon reports Mourinho’s transfer request has been overruled by United chiefs.
According to the Spain newspaper, United executives believes that Ruiz is too young to take a punt on.
Meanwhile, Manchester midfielder, Nemanja Matic has urged the club’s board to spend big following their disappointing campaign.
“We need a few more players in the squad and then we can fight for the title and hopefully we can do that next season,” Matic told reporters.
