Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has explained his decision for substituting midfielder, Granit Xhaka in his side’s 3-2 defeat to Chelsea in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
Goals from Pedro, Morata and Alonso ensured victory for the Blues against the Gunners at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening as Mkhitaryan and Iwobi scored for the visitors.
Emery said the reason for bringing out Xhaka has nothing to do with trying to counter Chelsea’s midfield dominance but because the Swiss international had picked up a booking.
“It was a tactical decision because Xhaka had a yellow card,” Inews quoted Emery as saying at post-match conference.
“We don’t take risks with yellow cards and for giving chances to other players we have in the match.”
