EPL: Why I’m not happy at Chelsea – Defender opens up

Chelsea defender, Andreas Christensen has admitted he is unhappy with life at the club.

Christensen racked up 33 appearances in all competitions last season under sacked manager, Antonio Conte.

Maurizio Sarri took over from Conte at Chelsea over the summer and Christensen has since played just four times, all in the Europa League.

The Denmark defender has now revealed he was sad like any other player who is not getting match time, but insisted he is not looking to leave the club.

Asked if he sees his future being away from Chelsea, the player told Sky Sports, “Difficult question. No, I don’t think so.

“Things are different from last season. I played a lot of games but this season it hasn’t been like that. It’s always difficult for a player but we’ll see what happens.

“If you asked every player that’s not playing if they’re happy, they’re going to say ‘no’. Everyone wants to play.

“I can’t do anything else but go back there, train and do my best. Every time I get that opportunity, I have to do well and show [Sarri] that he can count on me.

“You don’t want to sit around and wait for it. You want to play straight away and that’s why we all play football.”
