One of Arsenal’s coaches, Juan Carlos Carcedo, accosted Lucas Torreira on the pitch following their 3-2 defeat by Chelsea on the weekend, the UK Mirror reports.
The Uruguayan midfielder played just the second half of the fixture at Stamford Bridge, but was subjected to a dressing down after the final whistle.
Chelsea stormed into a 2-0 lead, but Arsenal drew level before the break.
Gunners boss, Unai Emery, then swapped Xhaka for Torreira at half time.
With few minutes left, Alexandre Lacazette tried to find Torreira with a pass, but he wasn’t switched on enough.
Instead of coming to meet the pass, he waited for it to come to him, and it was intercepted by Eden Hazard.
Hazard then fed Marcos Alonso, who slammed in the winner.
When the final whistle sounded Carcedo, who is Emery’s assistant, stormed onto the field of play and confronted Torreira over his mistake.
He spoke to him for a few moments, gesturing with his hands to where Torreira lost the ball, and making it known that this new Arsenal backroom are not going to accept anything less than perfection this season.
