Manchester United’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, visited the dressing room after their win over Tottenham Hotspur to congratulate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as calls grow to give him the job permanently.
Solskjaer has now made the best start of any United manager in the club’s history following Sunday’s 1-0 win over Spurs at Wembley, racking up a sixth straight win to move within six points of the top-four places.
According to The Sun, Woodward and United’s hierarchy have been “wowed” by the Norwegian’s impact as they let him know exactly that after his latest victory.
Woodward went to the dressing room and praised the job Solskjaer did in out-witting Mauricio Pochettino to make in 15 points out of a possible 15 since Joe Mourinho was sacked.
Woodward and the United board were also very impressed by the work he did with the squad in Dubai, particularly in terms of preparing the side tactically for the challenge of facing Tottenham.
