EPL: What Wilfred Ndidi said after Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City

Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has admitted that he did not know Chelsea star, Mason Mount, was near him after being caught in possession by the 20-year-old during the Blues’ 1-1 draw with the Foxes on Sunday at the Premier League.

He also said that Leicester City played poorly during the first half against Chelsea.

Ndidi was dispossessed by Mount in the seventh minute of the encounter as the youngster opened the scoring for Frank Lampard’s side in his home debut in the Premier League.

A first half goal from Mason Mount and a second-half header from Wilfred Ndidi ensured both teams got a point at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking after the match the Super Eagles star told reporters: “It’s football. I just try to move on. No, I did not [know Mount was there].

“We actually put a poor first half aside, and we were asked to push up and forget about the one goal they scored, and we just had to react.

“It’s a mixed feeling, you know. We tried a couple of times in training with Madders [Maddison] and he told me I was going to score.”
