Ole Gunnar Solskjaer convinced Paul Pogba to stay at Manchester United, by telling the Frenchman he intends to build his team around him, the UK Sun reports.
Pogba fell out with former manager, Jose Mourinho, before he was eventually fired in December.
Under caretaker manager Solskjaer, Pogba has scored six goals in nine appearances, to help United make up ground in the race for top four places.
However, it is understood Pogba was ready to leave Old Trafford on loan, because of Mourinho.
The 25-year-old who only returned to Old Trafford in 2016 for a then-world record transfer fee, would have then looked to make a permanent transfer in the summer.
But, like a number of Manchester United players, Pogba has had a change of heart since Solskjaer took over.
