EPL: What Pochettino said about Harry Kane’s poor form

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has assured that Harry Kane will bounce back from his recent slump in form, ahead of Saturday’s match against Brighton.

The World Cup Golden Boot winner has failed to score in five of his last seven matches for both his club and country, as he struggled to make any sort of impact in Tuesday’s Champions League defeat to Inter.

The English striker missed an opportunity to open the scoring in the first half, and like the rest of his side looked crestfallen when Spurs conceded two goals in the final four minutes as they slumped to a third consecutive defeat in the hands on Inter.

“Harry Kane is one of the best players we have and that is not in doubt,” Metro UK quoted Pochettino as saying.

“After three games is not too much it is three games where he didn’t score.

“All strikers suffer a period where they don’t score. But of course, because Harry Kane is so important for us and if he doesn’t score we struggle a little bit to win.

“I don’t have doubt that he is going to perform better in the future and score goals because he is a great player.”
