Arsenal legend, Robert Pires, has revealed he told Alex Iwobi that he “made the difference”, in their 2-0 win over Watford in the Premier League last Saturday.
The Gunners appeared to be heading for a goalless draw at home to the Hornets, before Iwobi was summoned from the bench.
The Super Eagles star saw his crossed deflected in by Craig Cathcart to make it 1-0, before getting involved in the move that produced the second goal scored by Mesut Ozil.
His performance caught the eye of Pires, who believes Iwobi has a huge future ahead of him at the Emirates.
“I know just one thing, I told him after the game he made the difference.
“He’s a great player, very fast.
“He finds good solutions on the field with his vision. He has good mentality and spirit. Of course, he’s young but he’s learning very quickly.
“Arsenal with Alex Iwobi and Alex Iwobi with Arsenal have a good future,” Pires told Standard Sport.
