Manchester United forward, Jesse Lingard, has revealed details of the conversation manager Jose Mourinho had with the team, that inspired their comeback against Burnley.

United were 2-0 down after goals from Ashley Barnes and Steven Defour, but Lingard scored twice after coming off the bench to rescue a point at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

The England international has now lifted the lid on what Mourinho told them to do.

“Always believe, never give up, we knew we had another 45 minutes to play so be patient. Keeping moving the ball, keep moving Burnley about and eventually we created two clear cut chances,” Lingard told MUTV.

“It’s disappointing when you see the chances we created. But give it another ten minutes and I think we would have won the game.

“I thought getting towards the end we were tiring them out but now we look forward to the next game.”
