Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has disclosed what he told his players after his side were defeated 3-1 by Manchester City on Sunday in the Premier League derby encounter.
Goals from David Silva, Sergio Aguero and IIkay Gundogan ensured victory for the hosts at Etihad.
Anthony Martial’s lone strike was not enough to get a point for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Mourinho said he told his players that they were playing much better than before, adding that they did great against Pep Guardiola’s side and they must put the defeat behind them.
Asked what he told his players after his side’s defeat by City, Mourinho told MUTV: “There was a fantastic character from the team and a great effort by everybody.
“So it was not an easy week for us but I just told the players they’re playing much better than before. We are much stronger, we are much more compact.
“Now we have to not let the defeat disappoint us. Sad, yes, but not too disappointed. In two weeks’ time we play at home against Crystal Palace and, from that game, we have to try to get the points.”
Mourinho’s side will now take on Crystal Palace in their next match on November 24.
