Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil, has hailed his fellow teammates after their Premier League 1-0 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who finished as one of the top scorers in the Premier League last season, netted the only goal at St James’ Park.
Ozil, who missed Arsenal’s clash against Newcastle, said that the victory was an important three points for Unai Emery’s side.
“Yes lads. First important 3 pts secured YaGunnersYa M1Ö NEWARS,” the 30-year-old wrote on Twitter.
DAILY POST had reported that Ozil and fellow teammate, Saed Kolasinac missed the clash due to security issues.
The two players were victims of an attempted car-jacking in late July, after returning to London following the club’s tour of the United States.
Ozil will now hope to feature for Arsenal when they tackle Burnley in their next Premier League clash on August 17.
