EPL: What Guardiola said about Chelsea, Tottenham, Man United after win over Liverpool

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has noted that his side will face stiff competition from their main rivals in the Premier League this season.

Man City have won the league title in each of the last two seasons.

The Citizens become the first side to accumulate 100 points in a 38-game campaign in 2017/18, before defending their title last season by pipping Liverpool to the title by one point, winning with 98 points.

But speaking to BT Sport after seeing his side win the Community Shield on penalties against Liverpool on Sunday, Guardiola said he felt it may not just be a battle between the two rivals in 2019/20.

“If we take what happened last season, that is true,” he said, when asked if he felt City and Liverpool would be the top two again.

“I would say that there are many, [Manchester] United will be back, Arsenal have bought good players, Tottenham as always have had a good pre-season and Chelsea of course are always there. I don’t know what is going to happen, I will just try to prepare the team and try to win, and we will see what happens.”
