Former Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger says he has no idea whether the club will give midfielder, Aaron Ramsey a ‘huge contract’ in the January transfer window.
Ramsey is set to leave the Emirates club after a decade of service in North London.
The Welsh international had been close to agreeing to a new deal but Arsenal recently withdrew their offer amid input from head coach Unai Emery. Wenger feels the 27-year-old is in a strong position at Arsenal despite the club withdrawing a contract offer.
Speaking about Ramsey’s contract situation at Arsenal, Wenger was quoted by Metro UK as saying: “We tried that before and it still can happen.
“‘I don’t really know what’s happening at Arsenal. Sure, Aaron Ramsey is in a strong position now and he will use this position.
“But I don’t know how far Arsenal will go in terms of giving him a huge contract.
“These things were once my responsibility, but not anymore. I’m happy about that.”
Arsenal will take on Leicester City in their next Premier League fixtures on October 22.
