EPL Watch: Suarez rescues point for Liverpool, Spurs fight back to win City

Suarez_Chelsea 2-2

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, will take over the back pages of tomorrow’s UK dailies, after a dramatic 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

The Uruguyan grabbed a late, late equaliser for the home side, but should have been sent off after biting Branislav Ivanovic, but referee Kevin Frend missed the incident.

Oscar opened scoring for Chelsea in the first half, heading Juan Mata’s corner kick past Pepe Reina. Brendan Rodgers responded by bringing on former Blues striker Daniel Sturridge at the start of the second half. The England international immediately began to trouble the visitors’ defence and eventually netted the equaliser, after Suarez found him in the area.

Suarez then conceded a penalty, after handling the ball in the area. Eden Hazard stepped up and confidently stroked home the spot-kick. But it was Suarez who had the last word, with the last kick of the game, heading past Cech from Sturridge’s delightful scooped pass.

In Sunday’s first game, Tottenham Hotspurs came from behind to defeat Manchester City 3-1. Samir Nasri squeezed in the opener, from James Milner’s cross and also failed to doubled their advantage shortly before the break.

Roberto Mancini’s men failed to extend their lead and were made to pay in the 75th minute. Gareth Bale’s pass found Clint Depmsey and the American tapped in the equaliser. Four minutes later, Jermaine Defoe dinked his way into the box and fired past Hart. Spurs comeback was completed in the 81st minute, with Bale lifting Tom Huddlestone’s glorious pass above Hart.
