Former Chelsea winger, Shaun Wright-Phillips, drilled in the winner, with few minutes left, as Queens Park Rangers defeated the Blues 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

It was QPR’s first win over their West London rivals in 34 years and it brought Chelsea’s four-match winning run to an end.

It was also a failed gamble for Rafa Benitez, who dropped Ramires, Mata and Hazard to the bench and gave Marko Marin his Premier League debut.

Even with the quality of players that started the game, Chelsea should have been well out of sight, but did not take their chances.

At the end of the day, Wright-Phillips – an early substitute for Junior Hoillet – fired home the winner, after Chelsea failed to deal with a corner.

At Anfield, Benitez former team, Liverpool, thrashed Sunderland 3-0, thanks to Luiz Suarez brace and Raheem Sterling’s first goal for the club.

Everton came from behind to defeat Newcastle United 2-1. Cisse put the home side in front, but Leighton Baines equalised with a stunning free kick, before Anichebe scored the winner.
