Martin Skrtel rescued an unlikely point for Liverpool, as they fought back to draw 2-2 with Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday.
Coutinho had given Brendan Rodgers side the lead late in the first half, but Mathieu Debuchy quickly levelled with his first Gunners’ goal. Olivier Giroud combined superbly with Santi Cazorla to score what looked like the winning goal, before Skrtel struck.
In the first game of the day, Adam Johnson’s late, late goal stunned Newcastle, as Sunderland continued their winning run in the Tyneside derby, with a 1-0 win.
The Magpies, who were dumped out of the Capital One Cup earlier this week, paid the ultimate price for profligacy in front of goal.
