EPL: Thierry Henry reveals why Guardiola is doing better than Wenger

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has claimed that Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola used to walk away from training sessions if his players started giving him anything less than 100%.

He said this while drawing comparison between Arsenal manager, Aresne Wenger and Guardiola.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach is closing in on his first Premier League title having masterminded City’s astonishing campaign which has seen them already claiming the Carabao Cup.

City cruised to their second 3-0 win over Arsenal in four days last night, a result which heaped further pressure on Arsene Wenger.

Wenger, however, has been accused of creating too comfortable environment for his players, and Henry, who played for both men, claims Guardiola would never allow complacency to fester.

He told Sky Sports, “I had that feeling when Leroy Sane was standing there I saw myself.

“He demands 100% in training every single time no matter what the drill is. When you don’t do it he stops training and he goes inside.

“He doesn’t accept 99.9% you have to give him 100%. That’s why those guys are doing what they are doing it is just brilliant to see that.

“Yes in a way I am upset because Arsenal didn’t perform but we are seeing one of if not the greatest teams we’ve seen in this league in terms of football.”
