The Reds forward, Mohamed Salah scored the only goal of the match.
The Egyptian international converted a penalty during the second half of the match to hand Jurgen Klopp’s men all three points against the hosts.
The win over Brighton means Liverpool are now seven points ahead of second-placed Manchester City on the Premier League table.
Liverpool will now tackle Crystal Palace in their next Premier League fixture at Anfield on January 19.
