Chelsea displaced Tottenham and now occupy the third position in the Premier League, following their 2-0 win over Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues came into the home game needing all three points to stay close to leaders Manchester City and Liverpool, after last weekend’s drubbing in the hands of Spurs.
Pedro Rodriguez put them on the right track with a goal in the 4th minute, before Ruben Loftus-Cheek sealed the win in the second half.
Maurizio Sarri’s men now have 31 points, seven behind City and five behind Liverpool.
Spurs dropped out of the top four entirely after Match Day 14, after they were beaten 4-2 by Arsenal in a pulsating North London Derby at The Emirates.
The Gunners have now moved into fourth place with 30 points and a better goals difference than their neighbours.
