Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is ready to make Paul Pogba his new captain, after Antonio Valencia leaves the club this summer, the Daily Mirror reports.
Valencia’s 10-year spell at Old Trafford is set to come to an end, with United refusing to offer the veteran defender a new contract.
David De Gea, Chris Smalling and Pogba have all worn the armband this season, but the Frenchman will be offered it on a full-time basis.
Pogba has impressed since Solskjaer returned to Manchester United in December, scoring 11 goals including Saturday’s brace against West Ham.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but United are unwilling to sell and want to hand him the captaincy to give him more responsibility.
