EPL: Solskjaer ready to break Man Utd policy over striker

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is ready to break the club’s transfer policy, to sign Juventus forward, Mario Mandzukic in January, according to the UK metro.

The Red Devils made a late move for the 33-year-old in the summer, but failed to get a deal over the line.

Solskjaer’s decision to offload Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez without signing a replacement has backfired and his United side have scored more than one goal in a match only once.

Juventus boss, Maurizio Sarri, has favoured Gonzalo Higuain and Mandzukic is yet to play a single minute under the former Chelsea boss.

United have maintained their interest in the Croatian and their troubles in front of goal have only reinforced Solskjaer’s desire to strengthen his attack in January.

The move will be out of line with the transfer policy Solskjaer adopted last summer, when he targeted young, hungry British players that could develop in years to come.
